Recommended admission profile

The Doctoral Programme in Philosophy is especially recommended for a graduate in Philosophy, or in comparable or related degrees, who has completed a master's degree related to the fields of Philosophy in any of its aspects.

For those students who aspire to obtain the mention of "International Doctorate", a good level of English or another non-Spanish language is recommended.

Access to this doctoral programme is especially recommended for students, national or foreign, who have completed their bachelor's degree in Philosophy and/or master's degree in:

  • Philosophy
  • Moral and Political Philosophy
  • Logic and Philosophy of Science
  • Aesthetics and Theory of the Arts
  • Other Humanities degrees.

The requirements for access to doctoral studies are set out in article 6 of Royal Decree 99/2011, of 28 January, which regulates official doctoral studies, as amended by Royal Decree 576/2023, of 4 July.
